“…in view of your FELLOWSHIP in the Gospel…”

Today we begin our study in Philippians. We have entitled the series:

“Extreme Joy”

Why? Paul was in prison. Yet, he is filled with joy, mentions rejoicing and joy (over and over again) and writes one of the most encouraging letters in the New Testament. That is joy…in the extreme!

What is the source of this kind of joy? Joy is a result—it is not something we can accomplish or achieve. It is a result of being in fellowship with Christ and the work of His Kingdom. The source of our joy is the indwelling Christ.

As we study Philippians we will see how joy impacts our view of:

  • Circumstances
  • Relationships
  • Things
  • Worry

We will be answering some important questions like:

  • How do we partner with other Christians?
  • Should we focus on our circumstances?
  • What happens when things do not go as we planned?
  • How should I treat other Christians?
  • Where should I set my heart’s affection?
  • How do I deal with my past?
  • What is my life goal?
  • How do I overcome worry?
  • What does it mean to be content?

Would you like to prepare for this new study? Here’s a couple of ideas:

  • Read the book of Philippians (104 verses…should only take a few minutes).
  • Memorize some verses as we go (click on the link below and print your own memory cards).
